New Orleans,LA : Two people have died in an early morning traffic accident on may, Sunday 21th 2017

Two people have died in an early morning traffic accident in Lafourche (lah-FOOSH’) Parish.

Louisiana State Police identify the victims as 19-year-old Jaydon Labat of Thibodaux and his passenger, 18-year-old Candace Reulet of Vacherie.

The single-car crash happened at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

State police say in a news release that investigators believe Labat was driving at high speed on Louisiana Highway 307. The car entered a curve, ran off the road and hit a utility pole. Labat was ejected from the car despite wearing seatbelts. Reulet, who was not restrained, also was ejected.

Results of toxicology tests were pending.
