PLAQUEMINE, LA : Driver killed in single-vehicle crash at LA 77 north of LA 992-3 in Plaquemine on Tuesday, 6th February 2024

A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, according to Louisiana State Police.

Troopers said the crash happened on LA 77 north of LA 992-3 in Plaquemine and claimed the life of Brandon Parker, 29, of Plaquemine.

A preliminary investigation revealed that before the crash happened, Parker was driving north on LA 77 in a Chevrolet pickup truck. Troopers said Parker lost control and veered off the roadway while trying to go through a left-hand curve. Parker’s truck then went down an embankment and crashed into a tree, according to Louisiana State Police.

Troopers said that Parker was wearing a seatbelt but was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
