Butler County, OH : 54-year-old Oxford woman was dead in a dump-truck crash on Wednesday evening October 1st 2014
A 54-year-old Oxford woman was killed in a dump-truck crash in Butler County Wednesday evening.
Patricia Manning died from "multiple traumatic injuries," according to a Butler County coroner's report.
Manning sustained those injuries when a dump-truck driver struck a railroad overpass in the 2100 block of Millville Oxford Road (U.S. 27) just before 6 p.m.
The crash caused a backhoe to slide off the dump truck's trailer and collide with Manning's oncoming car, according to a news release from the Butler County Sheriff's Office.
Officials pronounced her dead at the scene. A 4-year-old child in her car was flown to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, the release states.
Paul Ritter, the 46-year-old driver of the dump truck, was taken to the hospital and released a few hours later.
Authorities closed the road in Hanover Township for more than three hours to investigate.
