Milwaukee, WI : Deputy injured in I-94 crash early Saturday on July 12, 2014

A deputy was injured when he was involved in a crash early Saturday while working another wreck on Interstate 94.

Authorities said the crash happened on I-94 east of Highway 100 about 5 a.m. They said the deputy was stopped with the vehicle's lights activated while he sat in his vehicle after a crash involving a suspected drunken driver.

Investigators said another possible drunken driver approached the crash scene at a high rate of speed and hit the back of the deputy's vehicle.

Officials said the deputy was injured and taken to Froedtert Hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the deputy's vehicle was identified as Janet Kim, 20, of Brookfield. She suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the crash.
