Lubbock, TX : One killed, one seriously injured in a wreck on Avenue Q near 32nd Street Friday evening, July 8, 2016

One person was killed and another seriously injured in a wreck on Avenue Q near 32nd Street Friday evening.

According to Lubbock Police, the driver of a sedan was headed northbound in the southbound lanes. That car crashed with a southbound car driven by Jose Antonio Zarate, 37. Zarate died at the scene.

The driver of the northbound car is in the hospital with critical injuries. The force of the crash sent both vehicles into an SUV in the center turn lane. The SUV driver was treated for minor injuries.
