A 40-year-old Carson City man has died from injuries he suffered in a single-car crash over the weekend on South Carson Street.

The Nevada Highway Patrol said in a statement Monday that Matthew Arnold had died at a Reno hospital.

The patrol says Arnold was driving a 2003 black Honda Accord north on South Carson Street when — for unknown reasons — he crashed head-on into a signal light post near Koontz Lane about 12:20 a.m. Saturday. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers say an investigation is continuing and it's possible drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
