TAZEWELL, VA : A Cedar Bluff man died following a single-vehicle crash in Tazewell County
A Cedar Bluff man died following a single-vehicle crash in Tazewell County, state police said Monday.
The accident occurred Sunday night at 10:25 p.m. on Route 19, approximately 300 feet north of Route 639. A 1987 Ford Ranger pickup truck was traveling north on Route 19, when it ran off the left side of the highway.
The vehicle overcorrected, crossed back over Route 19, and ran off the right side of the highway. The pickup then overturned, according to Corinne N. Geller, public relations director for the Virginia State Police.
Geller said the driver, Anthony K. Boardwine, 33, of Cedar Bluff, Va., was ejected from the vehicle. Geller said he was not wearing a seat belt.
Boardwine was transported to Tazewell Community Hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to a report by Virginia State Police Senior Trooper S.K. Tucker, who is investigating the single-vehicle crash.
Geller said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
