Brunswick, GA: One injured in crash that closed Glynn County overpass for hour on Wednesday, August 5th 2015

The accident occurred around 8 a.m., and the driver of the pickup truck was airlifted from the scene by helicopter at 9 p.m.Georgia State Patrol Trooper 1st Class Kevin Ziegler, who was investigating the crash, said both drivers were alone and that he could provide no information on their conditionsZiegler said the tractor trailer was hauling paper products and was eastbound on Georgia 99.The Ford pickup truck was knocked off the roadway and came to rest about 30 feet down the embankment beside the southbound on-ramp.The passenger side of the pickup truck was smashed inward except for the dented fender and the truck was bowed from the impact.The overpass was still closed at 10 p.m.,but Ziegler said at the scene he expected it to open as soon as the semi was towed.
