Louisville ,KY : One dead and Three injured in Shelby County I-64 crash on Thursday evening ,July 2nd 2015

Police reopened the westbound lanes of Interstate 64 in Shelby County Thursday evening after closing the roadway due to a fatal crash.

Kentucky State Police say one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to University of Louisville Hospital. Two juvenile passengers went to Kosair Children's Hospital with significant injuries. Police are not yet identifying the deceased.

Police say the car veered off the roadway, going down an embankment and hitting a tree. The crash was reported just west of the Simpsonville exit shortly before 4 p.m.
