RICHMOND, VA : Child killed in Richmond crash, teenage driver injured on Friday, 31st May 2024

A 10-year-old boy was killed in a Friday morning crash along the 2800 block of Hey Road in Richmond, police confirmed Friday afternoon.

A 16-year-old driver and two other passengers, who police described as juveniles, were injured in the crash. Two of the surviving crash victims have since been released from the hospital.

One man who lives near the scene of the accident spoke exclusively to CBS 6.

"It's the most tough thing I've seen in my whole life!"

Davis Delacruz says he saw a guy trying to help get the kids out of the car. He later jumped in to help that man - and says that what he saw left him shaken up.

"One of the kids had wood through his body," Delacruz said.
