GUTHRIE CENTER, IA : Bicyclist hit killed in Guthrie County Iowa on Wednesday, 31st January 2024

A bicyclist died after being hit by a pickup truck near Guthrie Center on Wednesday afternoon.

In a crash report, the Iowa State Patrol said 69-year-old Wayne Hayes, of Guthrie Center, was riding a bike westbound on Highway 44, east of Bluff Street just after 5:30 p.m. when the pickup truck struck him.

Hayes was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
