Wichita, KS : Man dies after medical condition, crash in Derby, police say on Wednesday, February 15th 2017

A man died Wednesday night after suffering a medical condition and crashing in a residential neighborhood of Derby, police said.

Witnesses called 911 to report a man driving erratically in a truck on Meadowlark, Derby police Lt. Jimmy Queen said. The man then crashed into a large tree in the front yard of a house on the corner of Meadowlark and Prairie Lane at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

First responders were unable to revive the man, Queen said, and he died at the scene. There are no indications the crash played a role in his death.

The man’s age and name are being withheld pending the notification of relatives. Meadowlark remained closed late Wednesday night while emergency services remained at the scene.
