Augusta, GA : Warren County crash kills two on Saturday, November 27th 2016

The third and fourth fatalities in approximately two months on a Warren County road occurred over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to the Georgia State Patrol public information office.

The accident happened about 9:30 p.m. Saturday on the Thomson-Warrenton Highway in front of the Church of Christ at Warrenton. The state patrol said a vehicle driven by Tommy Johnson, 54, Ogeechee River Road, Warrenton, was traveling east on Thomson Highway when it crossed the centerline, striking a vehicle driven Sharon Kitchens, 45, of Wilson Road.

Warren County Coroner Paul Lowe said Johnson was pronounced dead on the scene. Kitchens was life-flighted to Augusta University Medical Center where she later died.

Saturday night’s wreck is the second double fatality in that area since mid-September. Catherine Hall and Aaliyah Jackson died from injuries in a Sept. 16 accident.
