PHOENIX, AZ : 2 Phoenix police officers hospitalized after alleged DUI crash on Sunday, 9th June 2024

Two Phoenix police officers are recovering in the hospital after their patrol SUV was struck by a driver early Sunday morning.

Just before 2:30 a.m., investigators say two officers were driving near 73rd Avenue and Indian School Road when 60-year-old Paula Carbajal turned in front of them and crashed into their patrol SUV. Both officers were hospitalized as a precaution.

Authorities say Carbajal was arrested and processed for DUI but was later issued a citation and released. No other injuries were reported in the collision.
