Man faces charges in fatal hit-run accident

Police have charged a livery cab driver with the fatal hit-and-run accident of a 21-year-old woman in Harlem.Taja Johnson of Mount Vernon, N.Y., was killed on West 133rd Street and Eighth Avenue Saturday afternoon.Police say the driver, who was traveling south on Eighth Avenue, did not stop.

Boubacar Bathily was charged Sunday with leaving the scene of an accident after turning himself in.
Police say Johnson had exited another vehicle and was in the middle of the street when she was struck.It was not immediately clear if Bathily had a lawyer.
