Enid, OK : Man injured in 2-vehicle accident south of Hennessey in Kingfisher County early Friday, March 31, 2017

One man was injured in a two-vehicle accident south of Hennessey in Kingfisher County early Friday.

The accident occurred at 3:41 a.m. Friday on U.S. 81, 4 miles south of Hennessey, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Roy Esparza, 24, of Warr Acres, was driving a 2015 Honda Accord northbound on U.S. 81 when Aaron Scott Amsler, 34, of Enid, stopped his 2013 Peterbilt 389 semi at the westbound stop sign on E0680, the report states. Amsler failed to yield from the stop sign, pulling onto U.S. 81 and striking Esparza's vehicle.

Esparza was transported by Life EMS to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, where he was admitted in stable condition with leg and arm injuries, the report states.

According to the report, the cause of the accident was failure to yield from a stop sign and inattentive driving.
