Hillsboro, OH : 4-vehicle crash on High Street on Friday, October, 27th 2017
Distracted driving was the cause of a four-vehicle crash that temporarily closed one lane of High Street near the center of Hillsboro on Friday afternoon, according to the Hillsboro Police Department.At about 3 p.m., Tia Case, 24, of Fayetteville, was driving a 2005 Nissan stationwagon northbound in the 100 block South High Street when she told officers she was distracted while looking at her hair, the police department said.
Case’s vehicle struck the back end of small trailer attached to a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Terry Sloan, 59, of South Charleston.
The collision forced Sloan’s pickup into the rear end of a Mazda 6 driven by Kristie Green, 42, of Hillsboro, and the Mazda 6 was forced into the back end of an Audi driven by Mary Gribs, 70, of Cincinnati.
No injuries were reported.
Case was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance.
There was significant damage to Case’s vehicle and the trailer, but damage appeared to be minor to the other vehicles.
The northbound lane of South High Street was reopened to traffic at 3:37 p.m.
