A 27-year-old woman was killed in a crash Monday evening on Lake Desolation Road.
Rachel E. Drumm, of Greenfield, was pronounced dead at the scene by Saratoga County Coroner Susan Hayes-Masa.
Two others were injured in the accident, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Dustin R. Barnes, 22, of Ballston Spa, was flown to Albany Medical Center Hospital by Lifenet after sustaining serious injuries. Jennifer L. Cook, 28, of Ballston Spa, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Saratoga Hospital for treatment.
According to a news release, deputies responded to the accident shortly before 8 p.m. Deputies said a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Barnes was headed east when it crossed the center line, striking a 2008 Ford Focus, being driven by Drumm, nearly head-on.
The crash is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit. The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Middle Grove, Porter Corners, Greenfield Center and Maple Avenue fire departments and emergency medical crew from Jessup’s Landing, Community and Galway.
