Toney, AL : One person dead, two injured in crash on Alabama 53 in Toney on Monday afternoon, April 13, 2015

At least one person was killed Monday afternoon in a crash on Alabama 53 in Toney.

Don Webster, chief operations officer for HEMSI, confirmed there was one person dead at the scene, located at Alabama 53 and Old Railroad Bed Road. Two others were taken to Huntsville Hospital in serious condition.

It was not immediately clear how many vehicles were involved in the crash.

Madison County sheriff's deputies and first responders were called to the scene shortly after noon. The roadway was closed to traffic while the scene was investigated.
