CLARKSVILLE, TN : Bicyclist airlifted to Nashville hospital after crash in Clarksville on Wednesday, 22nd May 2024

A crash investigation is underway after the driver of a van and bicyclist crashed in Clarksville Wednesday night.

The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Trenton Road near Timberdale Drive, according to the Clarksville Police Department. The bicyclist is being flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment, police said, and the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

As of 11:30 p.m., Trenton Road was shut down and southbound traffic was being diverted onto Hazelwood Road. Meanwhile, northbound traffic was being diverted onto Eagles Bluff Drive. CPD is urging drivers to find an alternative route until the scene can be cleared.

This crash was the second to happen on Trenton Road on Wednesday. A four-vehicle crash shut down the roadway at about 3:30 p.m.
