Newark, DE : One person injured after a collision between a truck and car on Pulaski Highway on Thursday, May 5, 2016
The westbound lanes of Pulaski Highway (U.S. 40) at Brookmont Drive in Bear have been re-opened to traffic after a serious crash involving a vehicle and dump truck left a driver heavily entrapped, according to the Delaware State Police.
The State Police helicopter was on scene and New Castle County paramedics stood by to transport the person once they were freed, Chief Rich Perillo said. The crash was reported around 3 p.m. Thursday, Perillo said. One person was heavily entrapped in the vehicle and a wrecker with a crane was called to the scene, he said. The dump truck was reportedly on top of the vehicle, which made freeing the person more difficult.
