Aurora ,CO :Two Young oil-field workers killed in fiery crash along I - 70 on Saturday, April 11th 2015

Aurora police say two young men died in a fiery crash near Interstate 70 early Saturday, despite efforts of several people to save them.

The victims were identified as Hadzigebich Cosio-Virgen, who was driving, and Jorge Luis Virgen.

Their cousin, Juan Manuel Cardenas Jr., was thrown from the vehicle and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cardenas told police that the men worked together in the oil fields and drove to a cousin's house before deciding to return home early Saturday.

Cardenas said he fell asleep and woke up when the vehicle crashed and overturned.

An off-duty Colorado State Patrol trooper and other people ran to the burning vehicle, but it was too late. Shortly after backing away from the burning vehicle, it exploded, Aurora police said.

Investigators said they believe sleep deprivation combined with a high-rate of speed were the main factors in the crash.
