Truckee, CA : Multiple people injured in a multiple car collision on State Route 267 near Truckee on Saturday, July 4, 2015

Three people were taken to the hospital after a major collision involving three cars Saturday night at State Route 267 and Brockway Road.

Truckee Police officers say they responded to the crash around 11 P.M. Saturday July 4.

The driver of one of the cars was taken to Renown with major injuries and two other passengers were taken to Tahoe Forest Hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Several other people had minor injuries, but were not taken to the hospital.

The cause of the crash still remains under investigation.

Officers on scene determined that the driver, who was taken to the hospital, was not wearing a seatbelt and went through the windshield. Officers also believe that alcohol and/or drugs were involved in this crash. However, they are still investigating.
