Millvale, PA : Woman dead after occupants abandon car in Millvale crash on Tuesday, 31st July 2018

A woman is dead after an early morning Millvale crash in which the occupants abandoned the vehicle, police said.

Officers responded to the 3200 block of Beekman Street at 3:40 a.m. and found a 2007 Hyundai Sonata crashed into a utility pole, police said. The car was towed away.

About an hour later, a man called 911 from Westwood to report his sister, Shelia Jones, 29, had been in a crash and needed to go the hospital, investigators said.

Police said Jones was taken to Mercy Hospital West, but medical personnel said she should be taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center due to the severity of her injuries.

Jones died in the ambulance on the way to UCMC, investigators said.
