Prentiss, MS : Pedestrian struck, killed in Jefferson Davis County on Saturday night, August 27, 2016

A man was struck and killed on Hwy 42 West of the Carson community in Jefferson Davis County on Saturday night, according to The Mississippi Highway Patrol.

The victim has been identified as Jeremy A Mckenzie, 23, of Tylertown.

Around 9 p.m., a pickup truck traveling westbound near McPhail Road struck a pedestrian on the roadway, according to representatives with MHP.

MHP Troop J responded to the scene.

The driver is not being charged, according to MHP.
