Allen County, OH : 1 killed, 5 hurt in Ohio crash at the intersection of Ohio 309 and Napoleon Road on Saturday, 13th October 2018
A man was killed and five people injured Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Allen County, Ohio, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said today.
The highway patrol at Lima said the crash occurred at the intersection of Ohio 309 and Napoleon Road.
It said a car driven by Zackery L.R. Smith, 20, of Lima, was traveling north on Napoleon Road about 7:45 p.m. when he stopped at the stop sign with Ohio 309, then continued into the intersection and collided with an SUV driven by Jackie G. Manns, 60, of Ada, Ohio, who was traveling west on the state highway.
Manns was taken to St. Rita's Mercy Health in Lima with non-life-threatening injuries. Smith was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
One of Smith's four passengers, Austin J. Smith, 19, of Lima, died at the scene. A second passenger, Briana C.D. Mullen, 18, of Lima, was taken to Lima Memorial in critical condition. A third passenger, Pattie L.J. Hefner, 18, of Lima, was taken to Lima Memorial with serious injuries. A fourth passenger, Sabrina N. Marcum, 19, of Lima, was taken to Lima Memorial with non-life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors in the crash, police said.
