Sacramento County, CA : Crews cleaning up fuel on I-5 after big rig crash on Tuesday, December 2, 2014
Crews were cleaning fuel from northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in South Sacramento after a big rig jackknifed along the highway.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened when a vehicle hydroplaned across the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 south of the Meadowview-Pocket Exit and crashed into a big rig carrying two trailers.
About 50 gallons of fuel and other oils spilled on the roadway.
The cleanup effort took about an hour.
All lanes were reopened as of 4:10 p.m.
The Sacramento Fire Department worked with Caltrans and the CHP to clear the fuel from the highway.
