Casey Key, FL : Motorcycle rider killed in crash on Casey Key Road near Sea Grape Point Road on Thursday, 12th March, 2020

A motorcycle rider was killed when his bike crashed Thursday night on Casey Key, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to the FHP, Joseph A. Spratt, 39, of Port Charlotte was riding a Honda motorcycle south on Casey Key Road near Sea Grape Point Road at about 10 p.m.

The motorcycle failed to negotiate a left curve, struck a raised curb and hit a large rock in the 1200 block of Casey Key Road.

Spratt, who was wearing a helmet, was separated from the motorcycle and fatally injured.

The crash is under investigation.
