SISTERS, OR : A motorcycle rider died on Friday, July 28, 2017
A motorcycle rider died Friday evening after he was hit head-on by car that crossed the center lane of Highway 20 just west of Sisters.
On Monday, Oregon State Police identified the deceased as Andrew Hensley, a 30-year-old from Hillsboro.
Initial reports say Hensley was heading east on the highway when about 5 p.m. an oncoming driver in a 2015 Nissan Altima drifted over the center lane, directly in front of Hensley’s Kawasaki motorcycle.
The two vehicles collided near milepost 93, and Hensley was thrown from his motorbike.
Hensley died while he was being taken to the hospital.
The Nissan’s driver, 20-year-old Walter Bonilla, of Los Angeles, and his two passengers were not hurt in the crash.
Investigators say fatigue is a possible contributing factor in the crash. As of Monday, officials haven’t issued any citations in the crash.
