Franklin officer injured in I-65 crash

A Franklin police officer was hospitalized after the parked police car he was in was struck by another vehicle on Interstate 65 near Murfreesboro Road on Sunday night.

Authorities were on the scene of a previous crash around 7 p.m. when another car plowed into two police vehicles on I-65 South.

An officer was transported to a local hospital for neck pain after the incident, police said.

The initial crash was cleared later in the evening.
