Hillsborough deputies are investigating a school bus crash Tuesday afternoon that injured the driver and led to minor cuts and bruises for two students from G.F. Folsom Elementary School. Deputies say the bus had just left the school around 2:30 p.m. and was traveling westbound on Harney Road near Bowles Road with about 50 students on board when the driver made a sudden U-turn to head back to Folsom, a half-mile away. The bus turned into the path of a GMC pickup that also was traveling west, the Sheriff's Office said. The truck slammed into the bus' driver side. No serious injuries were reported. Deputies said two children who suffered minor abrasions were transported to Florida Hospital Tampa as a precaution. The driver, whose name was not immediately released, suffered an injury to his left arm. He was transported to Florida Hospital as well. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
