Owatonna, MN: Two injured in 3-vehicle pile-up on Highway 14 on Monday, July 20th 2015
A three-vehicle crash on Highway 14 just east of Owatonna left two drivers injured Monday evening.According to a report by the Minnesota State Patrol, a 1999 Chevy Malibu being driven by Jacob Woodrich, 19, of Owatonna was traveling eastbound on Highway 14, about a mile east of Highway 218 shortly after 6 p.m. Monday when it was rear-ended by a 2014 International Prostar semi, driven by Glen Fogal, 62, of Madison Lake, Minnesota.The impact of the crash pushed the Malibu into the westbound lane where it collided head-on with a 2013 Ford Explorer, driven by Jolene Erola, 40, of Owatonna.Erola said that Woodrich’s car was stopped on the highway, preparing to make a left-hand turn when it got rear-ended by the semi, turning the car into her lane.Both Woodrich and Erola suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the report. Woodrich was still hospitalized as of Tuesday morning. Erola was treated and released.“I am very sore and bruised, but all is good,” Erola said Tuesday. “Thank God for seatbelts and airbags.”Fogal had no apparent injuries, the report said.The Malibu was totaled and the Explorer suffered severe damage, the patrol reported, and the semi sustained moderate damage.
