Jefferson City, MO : Woman, 25, dies in fiery Jefferson car crash on Monday, 14th January 2019

A 25-year-old Vernon woman died following a fiery three-vehicle crash Monday night on Green Pond Road in Jefferson, police said.

Katelyn Campbell was pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was taken by a medevac helicopter.

A Budd Lake woman also sustained serious injuries.

Campbell was behind the wheel and headed southwest in the Deerhaven Lake section when she crossed into the opposite lane, struck a vehicle and rolled over before her vehicle struck a second vehicle head-on, Sgt. Joe Kratel said.

Officers who responded to the crash at 9:14 p.m. found Campbell's 2003 Ford Taurus in flames. Patrol Officer Michael Ondish extinguished the flames with a fire extinguisher.
