CASS COUNTY, MI : Cassopolis man dies in crash on Sunday, 11th February 2024

A 72-year-old Cassopolis man is dead after his car crashed into a tree in Wayne Township.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a crash just off Dutch Settlement Road near Nubour Street around 7:40 a.m. Sunday. They located Doren Preston inside the vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation determined he left the roadway while heading east on Dutch Settlement Road.

The sheriff’s office is still working to determined what caused the crash.
