Phoenix, AZ : 23-year-old Bicyclist killed in crash near 59th Avenue & Roosevelt in west Phoenix on Thursday, November 6, 2014

A bicyclist was killed after being run over by a semi truck near 59th Avenue & Roosevelt in west Phoenix. Investigators say the bicyclist was riding along the sidewalk crossing Roosevelt and was hit by the truck which was turning onto Roosevelt. They say the victim was dragged a short distance by the truck where rescue crews removed him from under the truck. Paramedics took the 23-year-old bicyclist to the hospital but he was pronounced dead. Impairment was not a factor but it's too early to say whether the truck driver will face any charges. They did say the bicyclist appears to have broken some traffic laws. 59th Ave & Roosevelt remains closed while authorities investigate. Source : Bicyclist killed in west Phoenix crash
