Johnstown, PA : Three people were hospitalized following a one-vehicle crash on April, Sunday 30th 2017
Three people were hospitalized following a one-vehicle crash in East Taylor Township that briefly closed a portion of Route 271 near Parkhill on Sunday.
The vehicle, a gold Ford Focus, reportedly was spotted driving “recklessly” on the road moments before the crash, according to East Conemaugh police Lt. Joe Sefcik Jr., whose department was assisting East Taylor at the scene.
“The vehicle was heading northbound ... and crossed over the southbound side and went head-on into the embankment,” he said, noting that the car ended up back on Route 271.
The accident occurred between East Conemaugh and Parkhill around 6:45 p.m.
An East Taylor police officer accompanied the three motorists, including a 20-something male who was behind the wheel, on their way to Memorial Medical Center, Sefcik said.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation Sunday night, he said.
The extent of the three individuals’ injuries was not immediately known.
