PHOENIX, AZ : Deadly rollover crash in central Phoenix shuts down roads overnight on Monday, 8th April 2024

A man is dead after a single-vehicle crash that happened in central Phoenix late Monday night.

The crash was reported around 11:50 p.m. near 7th Street and Indian School Road. Officers arrived and found a vehicle with the driver, 31-year-old Maxwell Murray, trapped inside. Murray was pulled out of the car but died at the scene.

Detectives say Murray was speeding while driving north on 7th Street when he lost control, causing his car to hit a curb and rollover.

Both directions of 7th Street from Highland Avenue to Indian School Road were closed while police investigated but have since reopened. An investigation is ongoing.
