OCALA, FL : Ocala woman dies in fatal crash on CR 326 on Thursday, 17th January 2019

An Ocala woman died in a two-vehicle crash along West County Road 326 on Thursday.

The death was the third in two days, and the sixth traffic fatality in 17 days in Marion County for 2019.

According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, a Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by Alan Fox, was traveling eastbound in the inside lane on West CR 326.

A Hyundai, driven by Shirley Cason, was also eastbound on the same roadway, but in the outside lane and in front of the Ford.

Troopers said the Hyundai made a sharp left-hand turn, and Fox tried to avoid the collision. Instead, his vehicle collided with the left side of the Hyundai.

Cason was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center where she died from her injuries. Cason was 75. Fox, 49, of Fort McCoy, had minor injuries, and was treated on scene. He was later released, officials said.
