WATERBURY, CT : Police chase ends in crash in Waterbury on Wednesday, 17th October 2018

Police boxed-in a Kia that tried to evade them following an attempted traffic stop early Wednesday morning.

Police attempted to stop the Kia Soul, which had an out-of-state license plate on it, near Fulton Park before 8 a.m., but the vehicle drove off, crashing into a police cruiser.

That incident ended several blocks north near the busy intersection of Chase Avenue and Cooke Street when the Kia became blocked in by traffic and police.

Police say they were responding to a call of a suspicious person in Fulton Park at about 7:40 a.m. A Parks Department employee initially called the police, as the park has seen a frequent amount of complaints for narcotics and prostitution, according to police.
