Noble,IN : 1 hurt in Noble off-road-vehicle crash on July, Monday 17th 2017
One man was hurt Monday night in an off-road-vehicle crash on a Noble County road, Indiana conservation officers said today.
In a statement, they said Craig A. Berning, 28, was operating an off-road vehicle east on Waits Road near County Road 1200 East at a high rate of speed about 7:25 p.m. when he lost control and fell sideways, striking the road with his head.
Zachary Sturgis, 29, was operating an off-road vehicle west on Waits Road and attempted to place Berning on his off-road vehicle, the statement said. It said Berning was unconscious and fell from the off-road vehicle, striking the road again.
Berning was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne and was in critical condition early today, the statement said. It said both drivers were found to be in possession of stolen property and charges are pending.
Conservation officers were assisted by the Kendallville police and fire departments, the county sheriff's department and Parkview EMS.
