Madisonville, KY : Man dies after Pike County motorcycle crash on Saturday September 4 2016

A man died Saturday after losing control of his motorcycle in Pike County and crashing into another motorcycle, according to Kentucky State Police.

Cecil Hawkins, 62, of Blountville, Tenn., was riding north on U.S. 119 when he lost control of his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle and struck the rear of another motorcycle, according to state police. Both drivers and two passengers were taken to Williamson Memorial Hospital in Williamson, W. Va.

Hawkins died of his injuries at the hospital, according to state police.

Evidence indicates alcohol was not a factor and that Hawkins was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to state police. The investigation is still open.
