Fred Gray, SC : 1 dies as fiery crash shuts down I-95 at FL on Monday, 22nd August, 2016

The crash happened about 9:20 p.m. on the exit ramp of I-95 at Florida 16 and when fire crews arrived they saw the trailer to the semi ablaze, a post on the St. Johns County Fire Rescue's Facebook page said.

Fred L. Gray, 75, of South Carolina, had to be cut from the pickup and has since died, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The semi's driver, 31-year-old Bashir Omar Sheikh of Minnesota, was taken to Flagler Hospital with serious burns.

Gray was stopped along the shoulder of I-95 southbound and began to drive back onto the interstate crossing in front of Sheikh, the Highway Patrol said. They collided, forcing both vehicles off the roadway. The semi crashed into the guardrail and began leaking fuel, catching fire.
