KNOXVILLE, TN : KPD Man arrested after fatal hit-and-run on Monday, 10th June 2024

The Knoxville Police Department said officers responded to a hit-and-run on Loves Creek Road Monday evening.

After arriving at the scene, officers found the victim lying in the grass off the road. The Knoxville Fire Department and AMR responded and pronounced the victim deceased.

As police were heading to the scene, they saw a white Ford van on Loves Creek Road near Rutledge Pike with "significant front-end damage." When officers approached the van, the driver, Eliser Correra Romero, ran away but was caught after a brief pursuit, according to KPD.
