WEST VALLEY CITY, UT : 2 injured in crash on Mountain View Corridor on Sunday, 24th January 2021

Two people have sustained "extremely critical injuries" after their car was hit by a truck Sunday evening.

The two were traveling west on 5400 South in West Valley City in a compact car. The driver ran a red light as a pickup truck traveling south on Mountain View Corridor was crossing, which led a collision with the compact car's passenger side, according to West Valley City police spokesperson Roxeanne Vainuku.

The two passengers, who are believed to be a 19- or 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old female, were both transported to a local hospital for treatment. Three people were in the truck and were not injured.
