Utica, NY : A Canastota man was injured in a crash on April, Sunday 23rd 2017

A Canastota man was injured Sunday evening in a crash on State Route 49 in Vienna, Sheriff Robert Maciol said in a news release.

Douglas Kocher, 62, was traveling eastbound on State Route 49 in his truck when he went to make a right turn onto Drive 20, deputies said.

Schuyler Robertson, 23, who was driving his motorcycle behind Kocher, did not see the truck slow down, deputies said.

Robertson applied his brakes and drove to the right of Kocher’s pickup truck and struck the passenger side front of the truck, deputies said.

Robertson was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained injuries as a result of the collision, deputies said.

Robertson was transported from the scene by the Cleveland Fire Department to a Mercy Flight helicopter and was transported to Upstate University Hospital for treatment, deputies said.

Robertson will appear at Vienna Town Court for following too closely citation, deputies said.
