Two people killed in Madison County accident
Two people are dead following a Thursday afternoon accident in Madison County.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol tells us around 3:30pm, two vehicles collided on Highway 51 at Highway 17 near Canton.
A 1991 Chevrolet pickup driven by 30-year-old Michael Tucker was traveling northbound on 51. A 2003 Chevrolet pickup driven by 57-year-old Walter Simpson was traveling southbound on 51 and attempted to turn onto 17.
MHP tells us that's where the two trucks collided.
Tucker had three passengers in the car: 24-year-old Adrian Crayton, 4-year-old Traveon Harris and 7-year-old Quinton Journigan. Crayton was pronounced dead-at-the-scene. Journigan later died at UMC. Harris is in critical condition.
Simpson was taken to Madison River Oaks with minor injuries.
