A 94-year-old Naples man died following a crash involving a marked Collier County Sheriff's Office vehicle at U.S. 41 and Main House Drive in North Naples on Saturday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

According to the FHP report, Arthur Roshask was driving a 2017 Lincoln Continental south on U.S. 41 at approximately 8 p.m. and made a U-turn into the path of the CCSO vehicle that was heading north on 41 with its emergency lights and siren activated.

The deputy, 49-year-old Brian Wiedel of Naples, swerved in an effort to avoid a crash but struck the Lincoln, the report said. The Lincoln then hit a sign for the Germain BMW car dealership on the east side of 41, as well as a streetlight in the dealership's parking lot.

The FHP said Roshask was pronounced dead at NCH North Naples Hospital. A passenger in the Lincoln, 80-year-old Luan Callery, of Naples, was seriously injured in the crash. Wiedel suffered minor injuries, according to the FHP.
