Fort Loramie, OH : Four motorcyclists injured in crash on state Route 66 in Shelby County on Saturday, April 23, 2016
Four people were injured following a Saturday afternoon crash that involved three motorcycles.
At 3:53 p.m., the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a personal injury crash on state Route 66 at Basinburg Road, which is located in Fort Loramie.
A preliminary investigation revealed a maroon Harley-Davidson driven by 61-year-old Charles Fitzgerald, of Greenville, struck the rear of another motorcycle operated by Matthew Fitzgerald, a 40-year-old from Greenville. According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, the impact forced Matthew Fitzgerald’s motorcycle to crash into a third motorcycle driven by Matthew Hoff, 28, also of Greenville.
Hoff was not injured, but his passenger, Rebecca Hoff, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Matthew Fitzgerald and his passenger, Falicia Oostra, were taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital. He was later taken from Wilson to Miami Valley. Charles Fitzgerald was also moved from Wilson to Miami Valley.
The crash remained under investigation Sunday evening.
