Anniston, AL : Ragland man dies in crash on Alabama 144 near Alexandria on Sunday morning, May 22, 2016
A Ragland man died after a single vehicle accident on Alabama 144 Sunday morning, according to state troopers.
Bobby Lee Hicks, 80, died after driving a 2014 Ford Taurus off the road 4 miles west of Alexandria about 8:35 a.m., according to Trooper Chuck Daniel, public information officer for the Alabama State Troopers Jacksonville post.
Troopers arrived at the scene of the accident to find Hicks car overturned, Daniel said. An air ambulance flew Hicks to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he died of his injuries about 11:45 a.m., Daniel said.
State troopers are still investigating the accident, he said.
