Milwaukee, WI : Motorcyclist injured in crash on Saturday afternoon August 8th 2015
A motorcycle ride through downtown Milwaukee involving a group of about 250 ended when police say a motorcycle driver ran into a squad car Saturday afternoon Police said the riders were seen driving dangerously all over the city. When the group approached McKinley Avenue and 10th Street, an officer attempted to get in front and slow them down.
Some riders tried to go around the officer and, according to police, one clipped the vehicle and caused a crash. Two people were knocked off a bike.
The driver of the motorcycle was not injured. His female passenger suffered minor injuries.
The driver also had a suspended license and was ticketed for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, authorities said.
Witnesses said the ride is part of the annual Miltown Throwdown. The event is described as a stunt and street ride.
Though officers said the motorcyclists were seen driving fast, driving reckless and ignoring traffic signals, some riders said they weren’t doing anything wrong.
